The Beginnings Of Braun's Lawns
My brother, Jason, and I launched Braun’s Lawns and Yard Service in 1982 when we were just 10 and 11 years old.
While our dad was not part of the actual business, he played a much needed mentor – like role in shaping who we were as young entrepreneurs. He guided us through how to start and maintain a seriously wonderful company, and he taught us to take pride in every job, no matter how small or big.
He instilled a strong work ethic, along with the values that still drive our company today: honesty, integrity, and exceptional customer service.
Word spread quickly because of how we carried ourselves and how we treated customers. After school and on weekends, our dad would drive us across town and drop us off in different neighborhoods so we could work for hours at a time. He was especially proud when Jason got his license at 16, which helped us serve more customers and stay on top of a growing route.
In 1990, I sold my half of the business to pursue a college degree. Jason continued running the business successfully for years, building a strong reputation through consistent work and loyal customers.
Bringing this old-fashioned, professional style of yard care to Fresno has been a longtime dream of mine. As a Realtor, I have needed dependable yard care for listings and for clients, and I have often found that many companies fall short in communication, follow-through, and overall quality. Scheduling can take days, call-backs can be inconsistent, and the results do not always match what was promised.
Today, we have rebuilt Braun’s Lawns and Yard Service of Fresno with a family-and-team environment and one clear goal: deliver excellent work with clear communication and reliable service. Whenever possible, we aim to provide same-day service. We take customer feedback seriously and welcome it, because it helps us address issues early and improve immediately.
